    Hi Nick

    Thanks for this useful post.

I’ve got a huge challenge, and was wondering if you could help please?

I’ve installed Raspbian and Kodi running all the necessary update/upgrade/install commands through Terminal. The VPN Manager for OpenVPN settings will open up in Kodi, and is saveable but it refuses to connect to the PureVPN servers. I even tried the PureVPN add-on for Kodi and it too refused to connect.

With exactly the same settings as above on LibreELEC, VPN Manager for OpenVPN and the PureVPN add-on work perfectly.

I’ve been in touch with PureVPN Support, but having exhausted all efforts within their approach their last piece of advice was to try another Linux distro.

Ubuntu-Mate didn’t seem as responsive/optimized as Raspbian, and there was no easy/obvious way to install Kodi on it either. On the Kodi Wiki http://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi, there are listed OSs which seem to be recommended by the Kodi team. Of the selection, I only want Kodi on a Linux OS, not on a Game/Emulation Station OS. Arch Linux Arm is recommended as well.

I’ve found advanced users generally like Arch Linux Arm as its highly customisable. I’ve also seen a number of YouTube tutorials on how to set it up with a GUI which seems interesting. But its a very disproportionate effort to achieve the task at hand especially before I get a chance to start it!

I’ve since seen this by NordVPN https://nordvpn.com/tutorials/raspberry-pi/openvpn/ which seems to be a more robust approach than PureVPN’s for Raspbian. I’m not saying I want to change VPN supplier as PureVPN client software works really well with my other devices.

    I hope you can help!

    Thank you.

Hey Peter, we finally figured out the problem you are facing. If you visit our page, KodiVPN.co you will find a process on How to Install PureVPN on Kodi Method 2. In this process there is a zip file which has not been updated, but after your comment we updated the Zip File, so thanks a lot for that. Try installing the PureVPN add-on from the particular Zip File that has now been updated. If this works on Raspberry Pi then let us know.
