Phoenix Other Alternatives
Phoenix was once a popular Kodi add-on, but there’s always some old stuff being replaced by the new stuff in the Kodi world, and nothing’s permanent. Some of the Phoenix alternatives are highlighted below:
Bennu Login/Password
Bennu is a free third-party add-on and does not require any login and password to install the add-on. However, not long ago it had an adult section which required you to set a password so that it remains password protected. Otherwise, Bennu is a free Kodi add-on that does not require any subscription fee.
Bennu Not Working Errors/Issues
Since it is a new Kodi add-on, therefore its seem highly likely that the add-on would contain errors. Some of the errors that are likely caused in this add-on are provided below along with their solution:
Bennu Failed to Install a Dependency Error
This error normally occurs when a broken repository is considered to install this add-on. Whenever you try to install Bennu it shows up an error on the top-right of your screen, hence installation fails.
Solution
To rectify this error you need to install Bennu from a correct repository i.e. Colossus Repository. This repository can be found in Kodil Repository. Our installation guide prefers Colossus Repository to install Bennu which has been discussed above.
Wrapping it All Up
Long-term Kodi fans may probably remember the famous Phoenix add-on because this was their go-to Kodi add-on. However, a crackdown against Phoenix led to the closure of this add-on, but it then reborn as Bennu. In this guide we have discussed steps on how to install Bennu on Kodi.
Bennu has not worked for over a month!!!! If you are going to put out information then make sure it is correct.
A lot of theses builds on Kodi do not work. I do not understand why people keep putting false in formation!!!!!!!
Hello Hank, We have just tried installing Bennu and we were successful in streaming movies and TV shows. I can send you a snapshot of Bennu that I have just tried streaming a 2017 movie.

Hi I get everything as far as installing Bennu then I get installation failed can you help please
Hey Fred, I have just re-installed Bennu from the same repository and is working just fine. Sometimes an add-on fails to install if it happens to introduce a new update. Try installing it right now, it will work. If not, then let us know.
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling bennu several times on Kodi/Amazon Fire TV Stick but continually get same error messages ‘GetDirectory – Error getting plugin…’, ‘ImportError: cannot import name bennustreams….’ & ‘NOTE: IGNORING THIS CAN LEAD TO MEMORY LEAKS!’ I don’t know what I’m doing & need help before I do any damage
Hello Pete, are you getting this error randomly or is this any way connected to Bennu. Can you tell us how many add-ons you have currently on your Kodi app? Try restarting your Kodi device and clear all the cache from Ares Wizard. Install Ares Wizard from here: https://www.kodivpn.co/how-to-install-ares-wizard-on-kodi/ Now Open Ares Wizard > Click on Maintenance > Now delete thumbnails, delete cache, and delete packages. Now restart again. Hope this works.
Hi Nick, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’m getting the error message ‘check log’ every time I try to start Bennu, didn’t know what log it meant but eventually installed Kodi Log Viewer which keeps showing the previously mentioned messages. I have 5 other video addons, 4 program addons & 15 Android apps (presumably just reflecting what is preloaded on the Fire TV Stick. I’ve kept restarting the Fire Stick after every attempt to uninstall/reinstall Bennu but I’m reluctant to get into deeper water by doing the same with Kodi. I think I’m using Colossus rather than Ares & will look to see if I can follow your suggestions through there .
Hey Pete, since the Colossus Repo is down, you won’t be able to use Bennu for a while, unless some developer takes over and update the add-on. Try installing Bennu Alternative until the problem is resolved.
This morning Bennu worked fine. Three hours later and it will not open… I get the update page, but it shows no update scroll as it did previously, when I close that screen, Bennu tries to open but fails. Please advise, as I LOVE this addon!
Hey Kathleen, try installing Bennu from Kodil Repository http://kdil.co/repo/ and it will work. Colossus Repo was recently shutdown so it has caused some problem. You can also install Poseidon for watching movies and TV shows.
I read somewhere that Bennu was shut down, it also states that in addon when you launch it in Kodi 17.4.
Hey John, actually it was the repository that contained Bennu was shut down. You can still use Bennu from Kodil Repository.
and how do you do that?
Hey Robin,
The guide has been updated and the procedure for installing Bennu from Kodil Repository is mentioned. Kindly refer to the above mentioned steps.
